Exterior ballistics, made visible

See what actually moves your shots downrange.

A browser-based teaching tool that separates a rifle's mechanical precision from aim wobble, wind, temperature, cant, and reloading consistency — then shows how the group and your odds of a hit change as distance grows.

Every factor the simulator separates

Real groups blend many sources of error. The tool lets you turn each one on independently so you can see its individual contribution — and how they stack.

Mechanical precision

The rifle-and-ammo cone, set in MOA. This is the true capability of the system before the shooter or conditions touch it.

Wobble zone

Aim wander from hold and position, in MOA. It grows with distance and often dwarfs mechanical dispersion in the field.

Wind drift

Full-value crosswind modeled with a standard lag-time method, so drift scales realistically with range, velocity, and BC.

Temperature

Vertical shift from a departure off a 70°F baseline, illustrating how ambient conditions move your point of impact.

Rifle cant

Left or right cant combined with your elevation dialed produces a horizontal error that increases the farther you shoot.

Reloading QC

Muzzle velocity, ballistic coefficient, and extreme spread translate ammo consistency into vertical stringing on the target.

Zero & Group Simulator

Set your own numbers, tap the target to place an unconfirmed zero, or enter your real tapped group with Custom Zero. Nothing you enter leaves your browser.

Reading the target

What each mark on the plot means.

Hit / miss

Filled dots landed inside the selected scoring zone; hollow or red dots fell outside it.

Confirmed zero

The crosshair marks where you told the group to actually zero by tapping the target.

Center of group

The diamond is the group's mean point of impact after bias from cant, wind, flex and temperature.

Dispersion ring

The dashed ring shows wobble plus mechanical spread combined — the realistic cone your shots fall within.

Questions

Is this a live-fire ballistic solver?

No. It is a simplified teaching demonstration. Always confirm your real zero with live fire on a safe range; do not use any value here for come-ups, wind holds, or load development.

What is Custom Zero?

It lets you tap where your real shots landed on a reference bullseye. That measured group then becomes the basis the simulator runs, with wobble, wind, cant, temperature, and distance still applied on top.

Do you store my inputs?

No. Every calculation runs entirely in your browser. There are no accounts, no cookies, and nothing you enter is transmitted or saved once you close the page.

Can I compare two rifles?

Yes. Use the compare mode inside the simulator to run two independent setups against the same target and conditions side by side.
