1. Educational & Simulation Scope
The Zero & Group Simulator (the "Tool") and its accompanying field guide (together, the "Service") are a conceptual teaching demonstration. The Tool illustrates, in simplified and approximate form, how mechanical dispersion, angular shift, and environmental drift relate to one another and to distance.
The Tool is not:
- a live-fire fire-control solver,
- a load-development manual,
- a source of verified come-ups, wind holds, or zero corrections for any specific rifle, cartridge, or load, or
- a certified or validated ballistic calculator of the kind used for competition, hunting, or duty applications.
All formulas used are drawn from published, public-domain physics and marksmanship literature (standard MOA-to-inches conversion, general lag-time wind drift methodology as popularized in publicly available exterior ballistics texts, and standard projectile drag/velocity relationships). Nothing in the Tool relies on non-public, proprietary, classified, or export-controlled technical data.
2. Firearms & Range Safety
Live fire shooting is inherently dangerous. The Tool is software running simplified mathematical models in a web browser. It cannot and does not model mechanical headspace, barrel wear, chamber pressures, individual firearm tolerances, or real-world field conditions at the moment you pull the trigger.
Nothing produced by this Tool is a substitute for confirming your actual zero through live fire on a safe, appropriate range, under qualified supervision where required. Always follow the fundamental rules of firearms safety, the instructions of any range safety officer, your firearm and ammunition manufacturers' published specifications, and all applicable local, state, and federal law. AMN Ballistic Labs and AMN Collective LLC are not responsible for how you apply information from the Service in a live-fire environment.
3. Handloading / Reloading Data Notice
The Tool includes inputs labeled muzzle velocity (MV), ballistic coefficient (BC), and velocity spread / extreme spread (ES). These are abstract statistical variables used to illustrate a relationship — they are not manufacturer-tested load recipes, pressure-tested data, or safe load limits of any kind.
Do not use any number displayed, calculated, or implied by this Tool as a basis for selecting powder charges, seating depths, primers, or any other handloading decision. Handloading ammunition carries inherent risk of serious injury or death if done incorrectly. Always work up loads using current published data from a reputable powder or bullet manufacturer, a chronograph, and established safe handloading practices, starting below any published maximum and watching for pressure signs.
4. Limitation of Liability — "As-Is"
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. AMN Ballistic Labs and AMN Collective LLC do not warrant that the Service is uninterrupted, error-free, or that its calculations are precise or complete.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AMN Ballistic Labs, AMN Collective LLC, and their owners, contributors, and affiliates will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or loss of data, use, or goodwill — arising from or related to your access to, use of, or inability to use the Service, or any reliance on its outputs in a real-world shooting, reloading, or training context.
License to use, and feedback
AMN Ballistic Labs grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial, educational purposes. If you submit feedback, suggestions, or bug reports, you grant AMN Ballistic Labs a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to use that feedback to improve the Service, without obligation to compensate or credit you.
Changes, governing law, and contact
AMN Ballistic Labs may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time as part of an ongoing public feedback and improvement process, and may update these terms from time to time. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Questions can be sent to admin@amncollectives.com.
5. Export Control & Acceptable Use
The Service consists entirely of client-side JavaScript running general, published physics and marksmanship-education formulas. It contains no hardware integration, no targeting or fire-control functionality, no classified or controlled aerodynamic or weapons-design data, and does not connect to any external API, database, or hardware system.
AMN Ballistic Labs's position is that the Service's content and code constitute public-domain educational material, consistent with the public-domain and publicly-available treatment of already-published technical information. This page does not constitute a legal opinion or export-control classification, and AMN Ballistic Labs has sought independent guidance appropriate to a software-only, purely educational product.
You may not: adapt, integrate, or incorporate any part of the Service's code, calculations, or methodology into any automated or autonomous fire-control system, targeting system, or weapons-guidance hardware or software, or into any product intended to direct, aim, or fire a weapon without direct human control of the trigger. Use of the Service for any such purpose is expressly prohibited and outside the scope of the license granted in Section 4.
6. Client-Side Privacy
All calculations performed by the Tool run entirely in your own browser, on your own device. As currently built, the Service does not use accounts, does not use cookies, does not load third-party scripts or analytics, and does not log, track, or transmit any data — including your inputs, results, or usage — to AMN Ballistic Labs or anyone else. Nothing you enter is saved once you close the page.
If AMN Ballistic Labs later adds features such as analytics, a feedback form, an email signup, or accounts, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features go live to describe what's collected, why, and how it's used, in accordance with applicable law. The Service is not directed at children under 13, and AMN Ballistic Labs does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
No affiliation or endorsement
References in the field guide or Tool to organizations, agencies, or products — including but not limited to the U.S. Marine Corps, MGM Targets, USPSA/IPSC, and Bryan Litz / Applied Ballistics — are for educational and illustrative reference only. AMN Ballistic Labs is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of these entities, and target shapes referenced in the Tool are approximate, reader-supplied estimates, not licensed or officially reproduced specifications. The field guide's discussion of scoring and coaching practices describes general, widely-discussed patterns in marksmanship training culture and is not directed at any specific individual, unit, installation, or range.
